Vox Hunt: The Joy of Matrimony

Show us a great wedding photo.

In lieu of a bouquet toss at our wedding, we had an anniversary dance. At the end I gave my bouquet and an extra to my grandmothers. My paternal grandparents (left) had been married more than 50 years, and my maternal grandparents (right) had just celebrated their 60th anniversary. My grandparents are inspirations in many ways and certainly set a fine example for long and happy marriages!

what a great idea! i have always hated the bouquet toss! hehe

how amazing... i hope that steve and i have a 50th (or even 60th!) wedding anniversary :) i always love seeing happy older couples :)

Neither of us have living grandparents, so I had a bouquet toss using my sister's bouquet. The tradition in my family is to present the bridal bouquet to a statue of the Virgin Mary, but as I'm not overly religious (and my husband isn't religious at all), I opted instead to bring my bridal bouquet to his maternal great-grandmother's grave (they were very close) and leave it at the cemetary. I also had a duplicate made of silk flowers so I could take that to the Philippines and photograph it beside my maternal grandmother's grave (we were very close).
