I have to admit that I've never noticed that the boy's section is smaller. It always seems like the clothes that I like at most of those stores tend to be in the boy's section, though. I recently went to the Gymboree outlet and bought only "boys" clothing. Most of the girl stuff is way too girly. My pet peeve is the "diva" and "princess" labeled clothes. Like that's the behavior that I want my daughter to pick up!

You linked to the gap one piece pj's with the teddy bears. I actually love those (not because of the bear although it is really unobtrusive and hardly noticeable), but because they seem really comfortable and thicker than a lot of the baby pj's out there, without being too over the top.
[this is good]
I heartily agree with you on this. I swore to friends and family that I wouldn't dress my son in "sissy la la" clothes and absolutely would not like Winnie The Pooh or any other Disney character (My personal pet peeve as I was born during the "Mickey & Minnie on all kids items" craze) on any outfit.

Pet peeve second only to Disney characters is the combo of "baby" and a bear. This past season Target had a few items for boys that we received multiple variations on that exclaimed "Baby" & "1,2,3" with a bear. How I dreaded opening gifts from those who didn't know my distaste of the aforementioned. Innevitably it would always be this "Baby", "1,2,3" bear thing from Target.

I managed to escape 2 of 3 of the outfits vis gift receipts but I had to keep one as it was from..... my MOM! Why do people buy things they want to see on your kid instead of what you want?

Another complaint to add, if I may, is the lack of some really cute items in sizes under 12 mos. I find many cute things at Target that I would love for my infant to wear but alas they only come in 12 mos. or larger.

It annoys me to no end that the girls' section is always so much bigger, too. But pretty much everything for the girls is pink, and although I must admit I love picking those things out for my neice, if I ever have a daughter, she will NOT wear pink (at least not very often). The sad fact is that boys clothes are SOOO much better now than they used to be -- just look back at pics of your brother or husband to see what the choices used to be! My Mom said that, as far as the clothes shopping situation went, she was a little disappointed that we were having a boy at first b/c she remembered how bad the selection of infant boys' clothes was when my brother was a baby, but then when she saw what was out there now, she was pleasantly surprised...of course, this is the woman who plans on dressing my son in a Santa suit on Christmas Day...help!

I don't mind the animals on the outfits (I figure when can you dress them in cute things with teddy bears or puppies on them if you don't do it while they're babies?), but I definitely agree with refraining from dressing them as animals (except for Halloween, of course).

I've always said I wouldn't dress a girl in pink but I have to admit I get my pink fix now buying cute outfits for my niece.
Bubble Toes has that hoodie. I think it's totally cute and I love that it isn't pink! As much as I've tried to avoid pink it is pretty inevitable.
My other pet peeve is onesies with pants. I just think it's unflattering to those tubby tummies ;-), and more importantly, it's an extra layer to remove for diaper changes. But it's hard to find regular tshirts fo rneworns. Now that O's in 6 mos. sizes though, I've been able to find some at old navy & h&m.
